What sets him apart is what two decades in the suite honing his craft to create some of the most raw and beautiful images out of the most difficult places on the planet (with no crew)
As a colourist, Shane has graded more than 45 projects… features, television series and documentaries including Everybody’s Oma, Don’t Read This on a Plane, Love Is Now, Chasing Comets, Jesus the Game Changer (20 episodes), Encounter, and The World’s Best Film alongside many credits as an editor, including the TV series Inexplicable for TBN USA. That breadth of post-production experience is what has informed his cinematography.
Experiencing some of the most dynamic and challenging contexts in the world from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania to Bangladesh, India and Nepal, through Ukraine, and across Poland, Australia and the United States, shooting cinematography credits including Polina, If You Can You Must, and the shorts Truth and Dissection: The Witness Statement of Ingi Doyle.
What defines his style isn’t a fixed setup or a controlled environment. It’s the ability to walk into unpredictable, often difficult situations and still deliver images that are textural, considered, unmistakably cinematic and already built for the edit to come.
Shane draws on a rich tapestry of personal experience in film, music and theatre to inform his creative work. He believes storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to connect with one another and make sense of the world. Through his work, he strives to inspire, entertain and challenge his viewers, leaving them with a sense of wonder and a deeper understanding of the human experience.
Based in Australia and Poland, Shane’s career has taken him across Africa, Asia and Europe, and he continues to shoot and finish projects internationally.
